Deal!

Wipro bagged a $300 mn contract from GM yesterday. When Accenture, IBM & TCS had bagged the 'big' ABN-Amro deal last year, I had felt left out, especially since at least 1 of my room mates is in each of these 3 companies. Now, I think the record's been set straight. Especially since Wipro's deal size is bigger than those of the ABN-Amro ones. Sweet!

Vivek, just for your info, IBM have a big GM project already running for quite sometime. Though I dont know the scale of the proj.
However, I also happened to hear the big news yesterday on CNBC, and that made me happy.
2 big deals making news recently, ABN and GM.
But the news also told that the major part of the work might be done in some european dev centre of Wipro. I will more interested if major part of the work gets done from India.

Yes Biswa, IBM is definitely the big boss of the IT world along with Accenture & EDS & it's contract with GM for this deal is worth $500 mn.

Still, it's good to see that Indian companies are beginning to come close to the global majors in deal sizes.
