Prateek leaves ....
Prateek attends office in EC/Bangalore for the last time today. He leaves for Ranchi tomorrow & goes on to join work at Kolkata subsequently. He'd been doggedly pursuing his transfer & his efforts have finally paid off. I'll miss the conversations that we used to have at the Cafeteria & on the steps of the Amphitheatre on topics like Mithunda's exploits, R.D. Burman, Bollywood kitsch, Bangalore sux, the Indian biking scene, gizmos & other areas of common interest (of which there were many) .... adda sessions generally, which used to be highly engaging & thoroughly enjoyable. Will miss those times buddy .... but hopefully not for too long. All the best for your journey to the land of the rosogulla.
Meanwhile, Anu has had an unfortunate accident .... the auto he was travelling in overturned while trying to avoid running over a dog. 4 bones in his foot had to bear the brunt, which required surgery & the insertion of plates. Dude will be out of action for 5-6 weeks. Get well soon, Runjhun.
And last but not the least, Anu's big bro, Ashish, has hopped over from the Redwood based corporation to apni swadeshi company & will probably be working in the same tower as mine. Cool!

Hi Vivek,
Always nice to visit u'r blog every once a while. And nothing better than seeing some familiar names as well :)..i saw mine too :). Anu is back home and we'll see him get well soon. And good to know that Ashish and u r in the same tower.., with me feeling left out at this Redwood based corporation. Believe me, a big brand name does'nt guarantee the job satisfaction one looks for ..it defn gives u a sense of pride but that's only 10% if not less of what u want to achieve right :)
Chalo then, keep blogging..!!
Hi Abhi, great to hear from you & thanks for the nice words. I didn't kow you had a blog too. Badiya hai .... i'll add one more to the list.
Your views on job satisfaction were enlightening. I used to think that working for a company like yours would be the ultimate in the field we are in. But you rightly pointed out that the brand name is ~10% of what one wants to achieve. That has certainly got me thinking.
Yeah ..thanks for finding my comments enlightening, some might find it enraging as well :)
And my blog is one gasbag, started it off with vigour but slowly lost interest. Will have to see if i can continue with writing something interesting at the least.
Your blog rocks !!
rocks! .... well, I always thought that people were put off by my overemphasis on cricket & cars.
Thanks for the compliment .... it's huge :-)
I say your blog rocks primarily because i realize that its very difficult to keep a blog alive and active for long. And the frequency with which you post and cover current affairs is commendable. One can do away with newspapers and brush up their current affairs going thru your blog once a month :) Not that i do that, i am currently off current affairs :))
And not to forget, all the pics i found on ur blog are also fascinating.
So keep rocking !!
Yeah, the 3 Cs (Cars, Cricket & Current Affairs) are what interest me the most.
Besides, I work on Computers, so you could add 1 more C to that :-)
