Rock On

And waiting for this one as well. A Farhan Akhtar film after a long time, only this time he's starring in it! And it will be the super cute Prachi Desai & Nicolette Bird's movie debut as well .

Love the riffs on the title song.

Kismat Konnection

With a name like that designed to woo the teenybopper crowd, one wouldn't expect too much from the music. But 1 or 2 listens is all it takes to start liking the tunes.

Shahid Kapoor & Pritam combine again, & the sounds seem eerily familiar to their last meeting, Jab We Met. And none more so than Mohit Chauhan's (& Shreya Ghoshal's) 'Is This Love?'. It's very likable though.

Sonu Nigaam (that's how he spells it now) returns with Soniye Ve featuring my favorite Sunidhi Chauhan. These 2 combine like nothing else & the song is a surefire foot-tapper. Even so, it reminds of 'Aaja Soniye' from Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.

Hard Kaur seems to have taken up full time residence in India lately. Her 'Move Your Body' from Johnny Gaddar was a super number to groove to, & she continues in the same fashion on (guess the title) 'Move Your Body' rapping it up with Shaan.

The rest of the tracks (including Bakhuda Tum Hi by Atif Aslam & Alka Yagnik - when was the last time she did playback and Aai Paapi(!) by Pritam regular Neeraj Shridhar) are okay too, but for the moment these 3 (& their remixes) are what I'm listening to.

Good job Pritam! Now tell us where you lifted the tracks from?

Autocar India has come with some awesome renderings of the 3rd gen Honda City on it's July issue cover. If Honda India can come up with something close to the pictures & price it at the same level or even slightly higher than the current model, it's got a chartbuster on it's hands. Hell, this thing makes the SX4 look outdated!

Incidentally, among the Indian car enthusiast community, the 1st gen City is nicknamed the OHC (Old Honda City), while the current model is the NHC (New Honda City). And that's the reason why this post is titled the way it is.

Black is Black

Earlier, Deepanjan was talking about having a lot of stuff that was colored Black.

Well, looking around at my possessions, it seems to be the same story here as well!

Behold, my Compaq Presario V6000; Nokia N73; T.sonic 840 & umm, the IBM optical mouse .... all in Black.

Aamir

Starts off very well, but the suspense peters out toward the end. A good attempt by the debutant director & actor though.

Phalcon!

The 1st pictures of IAF's latest toy have started making their appearances on the net. This was on Airliners.net.

A Beriev A-50 E/I supporting the Phalcon on a radome, the plane looks the part. And the Indian Air Force camouflage gray looks deadly.

- Goodmorning, Goodmorning (always twice, never once)
- conversations in Bengali
- "tum log na ...." comments while Akshay, Prashanth and me rated the girls in the cafeteria
- uncontrolled laughter at silly jokes while the rest of the ODC wondered what was wrong with the 4 Hindi speaking people in the HR Access cubicle
- "chaa khaabi?" at 10:30 and 3:30
- "tu kya le raha hai?" at lunchtime while cutting into line ahead of me
- discussing car models/colors while checking out the parking lot at tea-time
- "Coffee man, aaj kitna coffee piya?" at any given time of the day

..... just some of the things I miss since Baishaly left.

On a Montreal track that came in for a lot of flak for being potholed(!), there occured an even stranger incident on the pitlane.

BMW got a lucky win handed to them by the circumstances. Hamilton will receive a 10 place drop in the next race as penalty.

Royals it is!

What a final! A real nail biter, with the momentum shifting from one team to the other throughout the course of the last 10 overs of Rajasthan's chase.

In the end, Shane Warne's boys emerged deserving winners, but only just. In a match that went right down to the last ball, Dhoni's boys weren't too far behind either.

So, it's finally over ..... 44 days, 59 matches of whirlwind 20-20 action when nary a day went by without a contest (and sometimes there were two).

I think I'll miss the IPL .............

eh?

After a very exciting league stage, filled with close games, thrilling finishes and lots of big hitting, the 2 IPL semis have been sort of damp squibs.

Rajasthan Royals blasted 190 odd in the 1st and shut Delhi Daredevils out of the game within a few overs. It was all headed one way after that.

Yesterday's final saw Kng's XI Punjab taking on Chennai Superkings. Punjab had had a superb tournament, but had lost both home & away matches to Dhoni's boys. Superkings on the other hand were recovering after having lost their way in the middle of the league. Hence, a lot was expected ..... but, it was once again a one sided affair.

Admittedly, the Rajasthan & Chennai bowlers bowled very well but what it did was take away the excitement one associates with a typical T20 slambanger. I mean, if one comes to know of the game's result within 4-5 overs of the start of the game .... it's not too enjoyable, is it?

The final takes place today & I hope it's a cracker. The inaugural IPL deserves a great final.
