After a very exciting league stage, filled with close games, thrilling finishes and lots of big hitting, the 2 IPL semis have been sort of damp squibs.

Rajasthan Royals blasted 190 odd in the 1st and shut Delhi Daredevils out of the game within a few overs. It was all headed one way after that.

Yesterday's final saw Kng's XI Punjab taking on Chennai Superkings. Punjab had had a superb tournament, but had lost both home & away matches to Dhoni's boys. Superkings on the other hand were recovering after having lost their way in the middle of the league. Hence, a lot was expected ..... but, it was once again a one sided affair.

Admittedly, the Rajasthan & Chennai bowlers bowled very well but what it did was take away the excitement one associates with a typical T20 slambanger. I mean, if one comes to know of the game's result within 4-5 overs of the start of the game .... it's not too enjoyable, is it?

The final takes place today & I hope it's a cracker. The inaugural IPL deserves a great final.
