Kumble retires

It's retirement season in Indian cricket.

After Ganguly's announcement last month, it was Anil Kumble's turn today. I remember the time when he had come on the Test team as a mustached, bespectacled youngster (Deepu used to pronounce his name similar to the Hindi word for blanket).

Since then, it's been 18-19 long years of mostly consistent performances from him. He has indeed been a dedicated soldier of Indian cricket.
