Reality overdrive

Reality shows have exploded on Indian television (maybe that's the reason why Balaji Telefilms stock is at it's worst). At the moment there are several on including Sony's yakkity-yak fest ....

.... Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao. A few yuk 'challenges' in between a bunch of TV stars quarreling like little children. Pretty boring.

Then there's Star Plus' much hyped ....

.... Sach Ka Samna. After the initial hullabaloo over corruption of 'Indian morals', and a green light from the courts (no less), it's settled into it's own little niche. Good if you're interested in other people's hidden truths.

MTV's Stunt Mania is another innovative show ....

.... from the master of innovative shows. Very interesting.

And finally, there's Colors' ....

.... India's Got Talent which I think is best in terms of timepass value. Genuine talent, fair judges and some great performances make for a combination that works.

Of course, NDTV Imagine's recently concluded Rakhi Ka Swayamvar pulled in the highest TRPs, but it was so pathetically artificial that I don't wanna write anything more about it.
